Job Opportunity: Finance Officer (Re-announcement)

The Open Institute is a local non-governmental and not-for-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate knowledge sharing and communication for social development in Cambodia. It presently runs six programs: KhmerOS, Women Empowerment for Social Change, E-learning, Open Schools, Publications and Lexicography.

The Open Institute is seeking qualified candidates for the Finance Officer – One Position

1. Responsibilities

  • To create, apply and control financial procedures and forms.
  • To develop and maintain the Financial Manual to ensure that it is up to date and transparent.
  • To prepare and maintain monthly the cash flow projection.
  • To provide daily, weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • To prepare and maintain up to date the accounting system, ensuring that all transactions are duly recorded.
  • To prepare payrolls for the organization every month.
  • To keep manage petty cash and be prepared for surprise cash counts.
  • To store documents in a way that is simple to prepare justification and reports for donors. To prepare financial reports for donors.
  • To prepare and update a fixed-asset inventory.
  • To supervise and provide guidance to team members.
  • To actively communicate within team and with other departments.
  • To regularly communicate and develop reports, work plan, time schedule.
  • To participate and contribute knowledge and experience to build team capacity.

2. Selection criteria

  • Graduated from accounting or finance bachelor degree or equivalent degree.
  • One-year experience as main accountant or accountant at an organization.
  • Competent in the use of computer accounting software.
  • Competent in the use of computer applications: Office applications, email, Internet, file management.
  • Speak and write good Khmer and English language.
  • Good interpersonal skills, time management, discipline, and able to work with little supervision.
